I just finished the series finale & I am EPIC levels of upset. This is some JK Rowling “why don’t we kill off some beloved characters” level of shit here. Not even Joss ever wounded me this badly - and you know what he’s like. If I didn’t know better I’d swear Moffat wrote the last episode. How could you fuckers KILL JOE? What the fuck is wrong with you??? It was so badly done too, completely out of line with the rest of the series & just totally unnecessary. You kill a character when it advances the plot or leads to character development for someone else. You don’t just go murdering people all willy-nilly for your own amusement. Jesus. That was just hateful. And the thing that makes me the maddest is that the real live people this show is based on are happy & well living their lives - so the writers just decided to kill off the husband & destroy the relationship that is the foundation of the whole show just for shits & giggles. >:(
